Meet Ivy!

“With my diverse healing background, I see my healing approach as alchemy. Alchemy is defined as “any seemingly magical process of transforming or combining elements into something new.” (From the Dictionary app). As an alchemist, I work with my clients to assist them with pinpointing what area of healing they want to work on first. Once this is established, I tap into my “bag of healing magic” and create a healing approach that is unique to every client, addressing your needs in the best way possible to work for you. I do this because I have learned over the years that healing is not “one size fits all”. Healing work should be as unique as human beings are each unique.”

Iya Efuntola (Ivy) Ifasanmi Ifasadun Akanbi, daughter of Shasha and Adjetey Okang, is an RN, Ifa & Orisha priestess. She has studied & holds several certifications in various energy healing modalities. These include: Usui Reiki Master, Integrated Energy Therapy® (IET®) Advanced Level, 13th Octave LaHoChi Master, Light Language Intermittent & Crystal energy healing. She is also a Hellenistic astrologer, spiritual herbalist, root worker/hoodoo practitioner, and flower essences apprentice.

Since the beginning of her nursing studies, Iya Efuntola has always been drawn to what western medicine calls “alternative “ or “holistic” medicine. After almost 20 years of nursing practice, her interests for alternative means of healing has increased. Now, Iya Efuntola affectionately calls herself Thee Hood Alchemist: using her experience, wisdom & knowledge to help create a specific healing protocol that her clients may use to heal themselves & eventually the community around them.

Self-love, self-care, self-awareness & self-healing are the main focuses of Iya Efuntola’s practice with the support of flower essences and essential oils.

About Ivy Okang

What is alive in your practice right now?

The most exciting things about my practice are the people I get to work with and serve. My goal is for anyone who works with me to find their own, unique healing journey that will support them beyond working with me. Client work is my main priority.

As an alchemist, I work with folks from all walks of life. I tend to hone in on working on our un-healed inner child and hidden traumas that inform our present circumstances. Sometimes the things of the past still affects our present circumstances and sometimes we don’t even know it. I’m excited to help people pinpoint how a past trauma is affecting their present situation and then working out the past to transform the present & the future.

What brought you to healing work?

I came to learn about flower essence therapy through my own healing joinery. I was introduced to flower essences by another healing worker who studied with Lindsay Flauntleroy via Oceans & Rivers school. This practitioner was so knowledgeable and created my own personal flower essence blend that supported me during the 2020 pandemic lockdown. Fast forward to 2021 and I took my first Spirit Seed School course and Elementals blend and I have been hooked ever since. This is when I recognized the magic and power of flower essence therapy and how important it is to the community. The more I furthered my knowledge in flower essences, the more I wanted to be able to offer this beautiful services to my community.
