Director of Operations & Engagement

About This Role

The Director of Operations & Engagement is an inaugural position at Spirit Seed. This leadership role directly manages the operations, administration, and communications needs of The Spirit Seed.  This person will play an integral role reaching new students, supporting current students, and engaging the Spirit Seed alumni community.   In this role, you are an integral contributor to the universe of re-membered and sacredly honored indigenous teachings and practices. This includes those from each of our students’ lineages as well as those from our global family. You are directly supporting the growth of a body of teachings, practices, and remedies that support individual and collective healing,  and a  shift in consciousness to ensure that our radical capacity for equality, liberation, joy, healing, inclusion, safety and wellbeing is realized, supported, and protected. 

Responsibilities

As the Director of Operations & Engagement, you will be responsible for:

School Operations

  • Evaluating current Spirit Seed operations- including current technologies and operational procedures- and making recommendations to increase efficiency and impact

  • Managing student registration and tuition payments

  • Supporting Spirit Seed faculty with content management (uploading and maintaining easeful access to curriculum, course materials, and student work to website)

  • Managing and updating student attendance, assignment completion and grades in our transcript software

  • Supporting documentation for the school’s accreditation 

  • Meeting with and reporting to the Spirit Seed Advisory Board on a monthly basis

Student Administration

  • Preparing monthly reports for the Spirit Speed Board regarding student enrollment to share important data that informs our strategic planning

  • Communicating with students en mass and 1:1 regarding course materials, updates, assignments, tuition, and accreditation status

Outreach & Communications

  • Creating a monthly newsletter to share Spirit Seed updates with our students, alumni, and larger community

  • Recruiting and managing a dynamic and soul-centered work-study communications team to support:

    •  Social Media content creation and management on various platforms

    • Communications (programming email requests)

    • Website updates (student showcase and calendar)

This is a remote contractor position with a fixed hourly rate at $30/hour, that starts in June 2024. This position begins with a monthly schedule of 30 hours per month, that includes both independent and collaborative virtual meeting time based on a co-created work plan.   This position includes compensated orientation and training in the Spirit Seed’s operations and tools.  This role is suited for leaders who are well versed in the entrepreneurial universe of independent work, networking, marketing, outreach and resource generation. Spirit Seed’s busiest times of operation are in the Spring and Fall, and our student body hails from across various time zones.

This role requires exceptional relationship building, organizational, logistical, and creative skills. The ideal person for this role is a motivated self-starter who is no stranger to the nonlinear, multifaceted, and iterative workflow that comes with operating and expanding a small business.  Ideal persons also enjoy the thrill of creating, applying, and adjusting plans with creativity, grace, and communication in a season of growth for a small business. You will interface with and serve a multiracial, intergenerational and international community of practitioners, self-healers, parents and caretakers, and spiritual and community leaders, both online and offline.
